Last Post Before Setting Off

Finally the trip has come. I had never thought much about it, such that the reality of it just hit me. This is it. Left a few more stuff to pack. I've settled as much stuff as i could for my responsibilties that God gave me. And now I'll just let myself do final checks and focus on God.

My flight is tmr. Will be at Terminal 2 at 1630h. A sms is more than enough, no need to send me off (got tasking so might be busy =s) Just hope that each time you visit my blog and see this, keep me in your prayers.

Prayer Request:
1.that the 20 days I'll remain in the Lord despite being the only Christian there
2.for good health, especially against diarrhoea (wadever the spelling!) =s
3.pray for opportunities to testify God's love

Keeping in mind what God taught me, I know this trip is not a mistake, that I'm wrongly placed but God's perfect plan that I'm going. May the Lord's will be done.

I'm glad that you all find my blog worth-reading.. It's nice once in a while to hear someone say, hey i read ur blog..(it's really weird when my chem teacher just tell me he read my blog. i was like huh?) I hope that since God made me more expressive thru blogging, that i share my journey with Him with everyone else.. My focus has always been on God (at least i try with God's help).. If you are a non-believer, this blog is a living proof of what the Lord is doing in my life..If you know me, you know I won't bother to lie thru the whole blog (esp most of the things i wrote is not self praise but for God's glory)

Countdown to India!

Ok, to not let myself get into any trouble, I shall be careful in not writing too much details about the trip.. =)

This is my 1st time going overseas for training, and I thank God that I'm going as an instructor not a trainee (more privileges and not as tough)... Still, I have much concerns. Leaving for 3 whole weeks away from any Christian fellowship, with very limited communication means (it costs about $4 for every minute if i use my phone!! and about $1 for every sms! only can use the pay phone there), my only source of encouragement and accountablity is God alone. But i know God is more than enough for me. Just pray that I remain in God, and no matter what situation or temptations come, I'll trust in the Lord and obey His voice.

Of course there are other concerns like the food, the weather, the thick sand, etc...

Counting down to India.. I always used Cluedo as a mark.. As long as it's not here yet, india is still far away... Now after the loads of briefings and preparation, I'm packing my luggage already and tmr I'm on embarkation off... Now my next mark will be the kayaking this sat.. really looking forward to enjoy myself before going to india..

And I'm packet IC... meaning i'm in charge of 9 ppl from the airport to the training area.. passport, checking in, customs.. make sure they don't get lost.. lolz... haiz still got tasking before flying off.. but on the bright side, a learning experience for future use =)

K, shall not post much next few days.. will make an official post to say i leave le =)

The mysterious works of the Lord

Much is happening for the past week but i shall highlight the most interesting thing that God has done.

I am writing not worrying if my friends in the army will read, for I really want to testify how great God really is! I have this fellow instructor who always go against my faith in God totally. Everything I do, i get teased, persecuted, irritated. But thank God He gave me patience that I am usually slow to anger. But i was annoyed in the way they talked about God. Not giving credit and glory to God is bad enough, making fun of God and treating Him as if He was like other idols they worshipped. Of course, to the lost they don't see this so how can I blame them.

But what God did was beyond what I thought could be possible. He put in place many opportunities, for me to show God's love. God made me to be more thoughtful, and willing to make some sacrifice to help my friend. Simple things like helping to take over their duties, offering my help even though I don't really have to. God helped me to place showing God's love above my personal interest. There were also a time, i needed his help. I was already prepared that he might not help me, but God surprised me when he did. My friend is one who is hardened by the ways of the world. It will be weird if ever he says thank you and he seemed surprised when I said thank you for his help. But I know God is working. As i pray, as i continue to submit to whatever God wants me to do, that I'll be willing to go the extra mile, that the Lord's will be done.

weird thoughts

perhaps it's recent events that got my mind wander too far and start thinking weird thoughts...

It's those times when I was suddenly struck by the reality of death. The fear grew because of the lack of knowledge.. Not that I do not know what happens to me after death, I mean I'm so looking forward to be with God, but the thought of eternity scares me.. What is it like to be forever and ever.. What worth is something if it has no end?

of course if given a choice to suffer for eternity, to be in a place away from God, away from all that is good, away from love, hope and grace, and choosing to return to my Creator, my Lord and Saviour, i guess there's not much of a choice eh?

i was wondering what it will be like to be with God forever and ever. what will heaven be like? praising and worshiping God all day? nah I believe life will continue, just as He gave us the 4 responsibilities when He created us: to replenish the earth, subdue the earth, dress, till and keep the earth, and to have dominion over it. life might be the same.. but without imperfection, suffering, sin and death. what a place to look forward to!

but again whenever i think of it, to spend eternity doing something will be quite boring, wouldn't it? Then what's beyond God? lol, what a question to ask.. when God is everything..

Yes, these questions do pop up once in a while, but God is patient in answering me, reminding me that Sianess is part of imperfection. then what i think is boring is a type of imperfection. I mean how can I be bored of being with God!?! To the answers I yet to know, God say, I don't need to know. To the things He has promised, the hope of eternal life and salvation, God says trust in Him. To the things after death, God says, live your present, as for heaven, you have eternity to experience it!
